Emily Halvorson is the state program press secretary for Evergreen. She has devoted her career to political advocacy in state governments to highlight the power of states and their constituents to bring about vital progressive change. Prior to Evergreen, Emily worked on the Planned Parenthood state advocacy team to fight local attacks on reproductive health care and LGBTQIA+ folks following the fall of Roe v. Wade. Before that, she was the senior communications manager for Governor Jay Inslee. When she’s not working, she can be found hiking or rock climbing while extremely over-caffeinated. She dislikes speaking in the third person and overuses the em dash.
