Michigan Republicans Push to Roll Back Energy Options, Raise Energy Bills

Today, Michigan Republicans announced they will introduce legislation to weaken the 2023 Clean Energy and Jobs Act (CEJA), a landmark clean energy package designed to create jobs, strengthen the grid, and lower energy costs for families. In response, Evergreen Action State Advocacy Director Courtney Brady released the following statement:

“Rolling back Michigan’s effective energy policies would be a direct hit on working families. These policies are key to lowering costs and creating jobs while helping Michigan unlock more energy to meet growing demand. Repealing them now couldn’t come at a worse time. It would mean higher bills, less energy when we desperately need it, and fewer opportunities for Michigan workers. At a time when federal incompetence is straining energy supply, Michigan must stay the course. Families deserve affordable, dependable energy and good-paying clean energy jobs—not policy whiplash.”
