Medhini Kumar is the writing/editing digital lead for Evergreen. Previously, she worked as the communications manager for Sierra Club’s conservation, wildlife, and outdoor equity campaigns, and before that, she worked in various international communications roles: stateside with UNRWA USA supporting the humanitarian needs of Palestine refugees, and overseas with iNGOs advocating for forced migrants in Palestine, Jordan, and Iraq. She sees tackling the climate crisis as inextricably linked to the international human rights work that started her career–both have implications that surpass man-made borders, have profound and existential human impacts, and require bold, urgent action. Through powerful storytelling, she hopes to help move the needle on climate policy and contribute to our collective fight for a livable planet and thriving communities. In her free time, you can find her biking around DC, searching for the best scoop of ice cream, and working at her local farmers market.
